Hello from HQ!
Hello from Tam and Team at DGS+JBR! I am embarrassed to admit that this might be our very first email newsletter coming to you from our "new" space, which is actually coming up on THREE years old. There is much to share so I will jump right in.
When things looked a lot brighter for small business in 2021, I decided I'd take a huge leap and expand into other territory. If you're a regular customer, you'll know that didn't go so well...and I am closing my other store (in Kitsilano) to focus on recovery back at Edgemont Village.
There is much to share about the expansion-attempt-that-didn't-work, and one day I will, but more importantly, there were great lessons learned that we will put into place in our operations. I appreciate your ongoing support so incredibly much, and look forward to serving you even better as we rebuild.

Next! Over the next few weeks we will also be finalizing the curricula for several new workshops for crafters, makers, doers and...menstruators. (I know that last one seems like the wild card, but I will be facilitating an incredibly helpful workshop about cycle syncing that will be appropriate for teenagers all the way up to the perimenopausal.) Finally, thank you so much for your heartwarming support of the Ukraine fundraisers in the shop. While this war in my family's historical homeland continues to rage on, I will continue to fundraise and gather medical equipment to support my friends on the front lines. As always, feel free to ask for updates from the zero line. I'm linking my favourite fundraiser below. And, pop in and say hello to our newest team member, Kateryna, who is from Ukraine.
Again, I want to express my deep gratitude for sticking with me. Through inventory shortages, unanswered emails and DMs, and a more stressed shopkeeper than I would like to be, the DGS+JBR community has been supportive during these crazy times. It has been rough, not going to lie. But we are going to try to make it.
